Christmas Eve - After a morning departure from your local area, we will travel to your hotel, the 4 star St John’s Hotel in Solihull, arriving mid afternoon. Our delightful Christmas holiday begins with a Christmas afternoon tea served at about 3.30pm, and then the rest of the afternoon will be free to settle in and relax and maybe, enjoy some of the hotel’s superb leisure facilities if you wish. In the evening, a welcome drink and a candlelit dinner will be followed by dance music, and the first of your three nights stay.
Christmas Day - Awake to a very special Christmas Day to remember! After a full English breakfast, you may come with us if you wish, to splendid Coventry Cathedral for the Christmas Morning Service, or you may prefer to stay in the hotel and test your memory in our Christmas quiz. The day’s festivities continue just after midday with a pre-lunch glass of sparkling wine followed by a traditional Christmas Day lunch, the Queen’s speech and a feature length film on the hotel’s big screen, and afternoon tea. In the evening, you can join in all the fun of our team quiz with a prize for the winners! A Chef’s buffet dinner and music performed by the hotel’s pianist are the finale to a marvellous Christmas Day.
Boxing Day - Following a full English breakfast, we will depart for a full day excursion to magnificent Warwick Castle, one of the finest Medieval castles in the country. Experience one thousand years of jaw-dropping history; great battles, ancient myths, spellbinding tales and heroic knights. Warwick Castle really brings history to life; visit the award-winning waxwork displays of Madame Tussauds, or the ghostly dungeons, the Chapel and State Rooms, The Ghost Tower, the Mound, or relax with a stroll through the castle’s extensive grounds and gardens. After a most interesting day at one of England’s top attractions, we will return to your hotel for dinner and the final night of your festive break.
Monday 27 December - After a full English breakfast, the final visit of our festive holiday is a morning excursion to lovely Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace and final resting place of England’s greatest poet and dramatist, William Shakespeare. You may like to stroll the ancient cobblestone streets, see the house where Shakespeare was born or admire the beauty of the town’s fabulous half-timbered Tudor buildings, or take a leisurely walk beside the scenic River Avon. We will return to the hotel for lunch before commencing our homeward journey mid afternoon.
